We are excited and pleased to announce the return of our signature event, SOUP'S ON. Soup will be served at the Dundee Community Center from 5-8, but you will need to purchase tickets soon. If you purchase before September 30th, tickets are $40 and you will be entered to win the Early Bird Drawing (picture to the right) of a beautiful hand-sewn table runner and this exquisite 4-quart Dutch Oven. Starting October 1st tickets will be $45. Tickets We are looking for a few good Soup Chef's, two judges and lots of soup loving people to come out and participate in the blind tastes test of the soups. Each participant will be able to vote for their two favorite soups. Our judges will consult on their top soup. A special judge and award in honor of her late husband Chef Martin Bleck this year will be Janet Bleck (form owner of Subterra). Chef Information Our guest speaker this year is Dr. Susan Inman who will speak about her educational toolkit. Knowledge is Power – Creating Awareness to Combat Human Trafficking. Working with professional educators, community leaders, parents, and students, we’ve developed a toolkit that effectively empowers our communities to combat these horrendous crimes. Dr. Inman's Bio. Then there are the auction baskets that are always creative, exciting and desired. There is so much to look forward to, especially new "soupers" and those we've meet before. Our Purpose: Raising funds for our awards and public awareness of Soroptimist and our mission. We have a big goal of raising $10,000. Our awards are, (selected via application process) Live Your Dream: female, financial head of household who is continuing or returning for educational training. Winners of this award are eligible for entry at the regional and possible the national awards. Application deadline is November 15th. Application Young Woman's Scholarship: We select one more senior high students and the winners receive funds towards their education which is sent the financial aid office of the school of their choice. Application. Dream It, Be It: This program is a one day career support training for teens. One attendee had this to say, “ Dream It Be It helped me build confidence, learn more about my desired career and meet others who were just as eager to learn as me!” We will be presenting this program later this fall or in the spring.
